YOUNG TEAMS AWARDED BY ACCENTURE ROMANIA FOR INNOVATION:
SMARTDROP – NICOLAE KRETZULESCU ECONOMIC COLLEGE, BUCHAREST, AND
LA PIATA – BABES-BOLYAI UNIVERSITY, CLUJ-NAPOCA
This year’s Innovation Award, presented by Accenture Romania, honored two teams
with innovative projects that respond to real community needs: SmartDrop (Nicolae
Kretzulescu Economic College, Bucharest) and La Piata (Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-
Napoca).

THE WINNING TEAM OF THE GEN-E COMPETITION, STUDENTS SECTION: GRYDIC –
POLITEHNICA UNIVERSITY OF BUCHAREST
The Grydic team (Politehnica University of Bucharest) won first place in the national
finals of the Gen-E Romania competition, Student section. Their device detects fires,
monitors wildlife and sends SOS alerts – a “tech for good“ solution that will compete
at #GenE2025. Participation in the Athens European event, at the beginning of July, is
supported by the Romanian-American Foundation.
