AI for Youth
AI for Youth is a European project supported by EIT Food, part of the EIT Deep
Tech Talent Initiative. It targets high school students and aims to prepare future
professionals in deep tech fields, including artificial intelligence (AI).
The program combines basic AI and programming concepts with entrepreneurship
and project management. Students are guided to develop innovative ideas that use
AI to optimize resource consumption in agri-food, improve food safety and security,
and digitalize the supply chain.
The educational content includes 23 modules covering the AI project lifecycle, data
literacy, and computer vision, helping students connect real-world problems with
AI-driven solutions in the agri-food sector. There are two learning tracks: a no-code
version for all students and teachers, with 32 hours of content on automation vs. AI,
AI learning, and ethics; a code version for those with programming skills, adding 20
hours of using Python, Jupyter Notebook, Streamlit, and CNN architectures.
