WiSTEM2Ddigital and
STEM skills
The WiSTEM²D (Winning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics,
Manufacturing, and Design) project, launched by Johnson & Johnson in 2015, is
an international educational initiative that features activities for children aged 5-18,
students and business professionals.
In Romania, the project started during the 2018-2019 school year and targets
primary, middle and high school students. It aims to cultivate STEM²D interest at an
early age, to help youth grow and develop in these areas, preparing and positioning
them to pursue higher education and careers in STEM²D. Through applied learning
activities, students practice and develop skills such as teamwork, problem-
solving, creative thinking, logical thinking, analysis and synthesis, negotiation and
organizational skills.
Working alongside business volunteers, either face-to-face or online, students can
explore different career opportunities, which makes it easier for them to find their
way to future jobs and careers.
