team developed a small-scale solar-based charging system for small elec-
tric vehicles.
n The Huse de telefon din materiale reciclabile (Phone covers made
of recyclable materials) team from Marmatia Technological High
School, Sighetu Marmatiei, coordinated by teacher Mihaela Simona
Ona. The team proposed a business built on the creation of phone covers
made of recycled plastics.
University Students section
n Best Financial Plan Award – offered by KPMG Romania to the VoltMech
team from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, coordinated by teach-
er Gabriela Strauti. The team proposes a platform for electric car owners
looking for specialized repair services.
n Best Tech Idea Award – offered by HP Inc. Romania to the SafeCrop team
from the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bu-
charest, coordinated by teacher Ciprian Ion Rizescu. The team proposes
a device equipped with a video camera and artificial intelligence, capable of
identifying dangers on agricultural land.
n Innovation Award – offered by Accenture to team La Piata from Babes-
Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, coordinated by teacher Oana Gica. The
team developed an online platform that connects small local producers of tra-
ditional and handicraft products with customers from across the country.
n Ready for Work Award – offered by ManpowerGroup to team Studently
from the University of Bucharest, coordinated by teacher Camelia Cojo-
caru. The team proposes a free platform to help students adjust more quickly
at the beginning of the academic year.
All these educational activities developed as part of JA programs, projects and
competitions, carried out with the support of the business community, companies
and volunteer consultants, will be continued in the next school year.
Junior Achievement provides young people in Romania with applied learning oppor-
tunities through which they can develop the skills, mindset and confidence required
to bring innovation and competitiveness to the entrepreneurial environment, to
adapt more easily to the jobs of the future and to become financially independent.
