JULY 16 JULY 17 THE WORKERGUARD TEAM FROM “STEFAN CEL MARE” UNIVERSITY IN SUCEAVA TOOK SECOND PLACE IN THE GEN-E NATIONAL COMPETITION The CAVISENSE team (Alexandru Ioan Cuza Theoretical High School, Bucharest) and the WORKERGUARD team (Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava) took second place in the Gen-E national competition, in the “School Students” and “University Students” categories, respectively. The winning projects offer practical solutions to pressing real- world needs: team CaviSense developed non-invasive test strips that detect cavity- causing bacteria through a simple color change, while team WorkerGuard designed a smart vest that tracks workers’ biometric data to prevent industrial accidents. MOBILITY FOR THE FUTURE: EDUCATION AND CAREER GUIDANCE FOR 1,000 STUDENTS IN 4 COUNTIES The project is part of Romania on the Move, a national program backed by the Dacia Foundation for Romania to expand access to education, employment, and culture. Over the course of 12 months, this large-scale initiative across Arges, Dambovita, Prahova, and Buzau counties supported middle school students in their personal and vocational development while helping prevent early school leaving. Through interactive sessions, the program empowered 1,000 seventh- and eighth-graders to explore career paths and connect directly with the professional world.
